Momento Vivere
How did you develop the ideas for each piece within the series?
The idea comes from changing the concept of Memento Mori—which is to remember about death when you paint still lives and think about that nature—into mementa vivere, which means remember about life. I don't want my steel works to speak about death.
When you watch the apples, you don't see just apples; you see them as a very important subject which is going into the earth, growing from the earth, giving energy to us, and giving a lot of symbolic meaning, like the apple from the Bible and the apple as a computer. That's why I choose apple for that.
Which techniques did you use and why?
Mainly it was soft pastel, but I also made one artwork with acrylic and oil, and one with watercolour. Again, it was not a planned decision, just a way I felt.
Were there any challenges you faced while working on this series?
No, I did not have any specific difficulties, but I sold one of the artworks from the series though that series was not for sale. But the collector fell in love with that artwork and after thinking for a few days I decided to sell it because at the end of the day I paint for people, and if there is a connection because an artwork and a person, I think I cannot be an obstacle in this connection.

What do you want the person to feel when they look at the series?
Admiration, sometimes regret or compassion. Depends on an artwork, but I am always happy to hear how people interpret my artworks .Sometimes it is similar to my concept, but in some cases people show me new moments or angles of view in my artworks
